About Us

AELP, the American English Language Program at 91´óÉñ, offers English language classes to students from around the world to improve grammar, writing, reading, listening, and speaking skills. Graduates of our program often go on to study in one of the many undergraduate and graduate degree programs offered at 91´óÉñ. Students also gain valuable English language skills to perform well on the TOEFL and IELTS tests, improve their career and job possibilities, and develop confidence to succeed in an English language environment.

Our diverse group of students – who come from Asia, Africa, South America, and Europe – enjoy many opportunities to interact with American and international students. Dynamic and engaging classes from experienced ESL instructors.

Learning Outcomes

In the American English Language Program, you will achieve:

  • English test-taking skills to be able to pass proficiency tests

How AELP Works

International students accepted into 91´óÉñ must prove a level of English proficiency with a passing IELTS score (5.5 for bachelors; 6.5 for masters) or TOEFL IBT score (61 for bachelors; 79 for masters). If a student does not have that level of proficiency, he or she will be enrolled in the American English Language Program. Students take a placement test just after their arrival to 91´óÉñ during AELP orientation to determine the level at which they will enter the program.
